The multiplicity of regulations and the translation of business commitments into applications are resulting in numerous application integration and deployment projects.
The rapid advances in technological offerings and the disruptions brought about by the Cloud and containerisation techniques in particular mean that there is a strong need for support: training, guidance and support for project teams throughout the cycle from application development to deployment.
Support needs to be provided in terms of understanding requirements, architecture, methods and rules for using a range of technologies. Only multi-disciplinary, agile teams can meet these business, methodological and technical objectives.
Pragmatism and operationality of the teams
Supporting a project team in a Move To Cloud project requires a set of coordinated activities carried out in AGILE mode, with a strong technical connotation from the environments linked to the current hosting of the application to the technologies that will host the application. Our approach is pragmatic.
Our small team of consultants has a wide range of skills, enabling us to provide end-to-end support for project team portfolios, covering strategic, methodological, governance, technological and product/know-how issues.
We apply a tried-and-tested methodology, setting up a framework for intervention, governance principles, skills-building activities, execution and management of services.
We generally carry out our activities within three types of missions:
- Urbanisation and Architecture
- Application integration
- Application deployment
Urbanisation and Architecture
The urbanisation and architecture mission combines knowledge of the urbanisation rules of the customer’s context and knowledge of the authorised stacks.
By analysing the existing system and putting it into perspective with a release compatible with the target type of hosting, the project teams can be guided in the adaptations to be made to the teams.
Setting up a governance structure to monitor progress and establish an improvement monitoring loop is necessary to enable successive teams to benefit from feedback from previous Move To Cloud projects.
Application integration
The application integration mission covers all the tasks recommended for the CI part of a pipeline in a DevOps context. Test and pre-production environments are set up to enable project teams to assess how their applications work in the target environments.
Our teams set up these environments with all the necessary automation to make the project teams as autonomous as possible.
Application deployment
The application deployment mission covers all the tasks recommended for the CD part of a pipeline in a DevOps context. Production environments are set up to enable project teams to deploy their applications in the target environments.
Our teams set up these environments with all the necessary automation to make the project teams as autonomous as possible. They remain on hand during the changeover to coordinate actions if necessary.
