Challenges
In order to expand and modernize our commercial offer, our client, a publisher, wanted to offer its telecom operator clients a customer loyalty software for local businesses. In direct sale or in white label. The objective is, in the long term, to allow the brands to transmit special offers and discounts directly on the customers’ devices.
In order to better adapt to current technological and usage issues, it was necessary to rely on the functionalities offered by the Google Wallet and Apple Pay digital wallets.
From an operational point of view, this service also aimed to demonstrate the value of outsourcing, an organizational approach that did not exist until then.
Implementation and transfer of skills
Consortia’s teams demonstrated all their capabilities in an environment with important constraints.
The development was done in a language known and mastered by our client in order to ensure a quick takeover by his teams for maintenance and thus allow him to keep his independence and his technical autonomy.
The requirements of maintainability in anticipation of future evolution of the Google or Apple APIs were taken care of by the choice of an approach in independent service mode. A transfer of technical skills was implemented so that the publisher’s teams would be able to maintain the solution independently.
The solution developed was thus able to be integrated into the client’s software offering. It offers the range of customization potential offered by the portfolio systems of the Android and iOS world.
Management in Agile mode
Tight deadlines led the Consortia teams to implement an Agile approach to project management. This method allowed the client to be reassured about the effective progress of the project and its adequacy with its expectations.
Understanding of technical constraints
The application architecture implemented was based on the technical constraints identified during the study, and on Consortia’s know-how and experience. It allowed us to build a reliable and maintainable connector.
Building the application
Based on the capabilities offered by the digital portfolio systems and the client’s expectations, Consortia developed the application as an independent service, which facilitates its maintainability in anticipation of future Google or Apple APIs.
