Windows Packaging Service Center

The Packaging Service Center ensures the deployment of workstations in strict compliance with security constraints and integration methods. It also enables adhoc management of the activity load to meet user requirements in terms of time and quality of application availability.

Bank – Windows Packaging Service Center

Challenges

Within the framework of an outsourcing of Windows Packaging, our client, a major actor of the economic and financial landscape, wished to subcontract its activities of integration of Windows applications by entrusting to a partner the update and the creation of packages for the workstations with a double objective:

  • To respect security constraints and integration standards and methods;
  • Absorb the heavy workload, including cyclical peaks, in order to meet users’ requirements in terms of application availability times.

Since requests are irregular and rarely announced more than a month in advance, it sought to rely on solid expertise, flexibility and a commitment to quality from its partner.

An approach in constant evolution

With more than 6 years of collaboration with this bank and an intimate knowledge of the banking sector, Consort France brings to this complex context all its capacity to innovate and evolve the context in terms of automation and industrialization.

Our experts have progressively realized the packages with different methods according to the constraints linked to the operating system such as remediation, virtualization and build. Our know-how allowed us to redefine the steps of the packages realization by bringing automation and continuous improvement.

We worked on the redefinition of a complexity matrix allowing to qualify 3 levels of packages with associated services.

We were able to adapt, challenge, reinvent and transform ourselves.

Consort France ensures a continuity of quality service:

  • Detailed Quality Assurance Plan tailored to your needs
  • Scalability plan based on the industrialization of the system
  • Implementation of the ITIL function
  • Service level improvement plan

To achieve this, particular emphasis has been placed on the stabilization and versatility of our staff, the formalization of procedures and the completeness of documentation as well as risk management. All these elements allow us to serenely deliver all the missions detailed below.

Our capitalization on our knowledge of the client’s context, our commitment to quality as well as our ability to modulate and mutualize certain activities are the strong points of our support.

Management of the service

Governance has been adapted to ensure day-to-day relations, management of workload variability, as well as consulting and technology watch. All the players are involved in daily, weekly, monthly or annual meetings designed to meet the challenges of the context and to guarantee responsiveness in management and proactivity in the fundamental changes to be made.

Verification of project deliveries

Each incoming package is handled by an expert when the sources are delivered. We are committed to requalify the requests if needed and to bring added value.

Packaging of applications

The processing of a packaging request is the step following the validation of the incoming requirements. It is the stage where the packager creates the package on the development machines. The method may differ depending on the customer’s standards, its environment and the type of application sources.

Installation test

Technical Validation ensures that the package meets the initial specifications by carrying out a series of predefined tests and verifying compliance with the standard in force.

Specific acceptance of the packages

During this phase, Consort France ensures that the required elements are effectively made available and carries out non-regression tests on the application to be deployed on integration stations.
